First look at oppos new foldable smartphone
The era of foldable phones is finally upon us. With the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X being unveiled over the past week, Oppo doesn't want to simply watch from the sidelines.
Oppo VP Brian Shen shared pictures of the company's prototype foldable phone on Weibo this morning and it looks a lot like the Mate X. Oppo has adopted a single OLED screen, with the back-to-back fold design, which results in two screens when folded.
Most of the internals including the chipset, antennas, and more can be found in the thick sidebar on the rear. Oppo's foldable smartphone is just another prototype for now, but Shen states it will ship if there's sufficient demand.
