OnePlus 5G phone to be launched in Q2 of 2019 powered by Snapdragon 855

OnePlus has announced that it has tied-up with leading Finnish telco, Elisa, to launch a 5G smartphone in the country during the second quarter of this year. The company had earlier announced a tie-up with British carrier, EE, to launch the device in the UK.

OnePlus will showcase a prototype of its first 5G smartphone at the upcoming MWC 2019. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, said the company.

In a press statement, OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, said: "5G is a revolution which can bring change far beyond the technology industry, for people everywhere ... We've worked hard to lead 5G innovation as this new era starts, working closely with partners like Elisa to create something special".
