02: What's New: User Interface Design & Features Overview

The biggest change you will notice in realme UI is it's user interface. It has made biggest transition over Color OS. The complete user interface redesign and customization under the hood. The User interface is clean, pleasing to the eyes, new icon designs, Fast and smooth app opening and closing animation. The UI interactions are seamless, effortless and less fatigue to the eyes over prolonged time of uses.

Let's start from the Lockscreen-
The lockscreen interface is simple, clean and minimalistic with usual music controls while playing music, cool new charging animation and has a camera shortcut at the bottom for the quick access to the camera app.

Depending upon your lockscreen security (Fingerprint, Pattern, Pin, Face Unclock) unlocking it directly jumps you to the Home screen interface. Swiping left brings you to the Smart Assistant, and as the name suggest you can view the things which you need at your finger tips while the quick functions lets you add your favorite apps for quick usage and many more!
Tapping and holding on the blank space of the homescreen quickly opens homescreen customization options like adding widgets, changing wallpapers, different swiping effects and homescreen settings.

Swiping down on homescreen lets you pull down the notification panel or Global Search option based on your settings.
Swiping Up lets you open the App drawer where you can find all your installed apps.
The opening and closing of apps, folders are accompanied by smooth animation. The realme UI packed with a wide range of wallpapers. All these built-in wallpapers and dynamic wallpapers are beautiful, responsive and comfortable to the eyes. The dynamic wallpapers reacts based on your actions on home screen and there are plenty to choose from.

The new icons are redesigned based on Google material design. They are more refined, rich in details and aesthetically pleasing and not only this you can also customize the icons based on shape, scale and size as you like. The  Volume Slider is now neat and clean and offers quick functionalities to control your volume be it your media, ringtone, alarm sounds.
Notification Center:
The notification panel is fully redesigned in realme UI. The toggles and colors are now close to stock android experience. Now your fingers can easily reach at the notification toggles without going to the top of the phone which is pretty nice feature considering the big display of smartphones these days. All these toggles can be edited and reorganized based on which one you want to keep and remove for easy and one tap action. All the notifications from different apps can be found in notification area with the quick actions like, Delete, Mark As Read, Reply. You can remove these notification by swiping left or right. You can also block, mute or snooze the app notification by holding and swiping left or right on the notifications.
The multitasking UI is same as Color OS 6 with cards like preview where you can lock/Unlock the apps to run in background or enter in the split screen.
Dark Mode:
It is one of the most highlighting feature of realme UI. It is not just an another dark mode but a full system wide dark mode with deep black not grayish tone. You can enable the dark mode from quick toggle in notification center or from the Display & Brightness settings in Settings App. Enabling the dark mode will quickly set the whole user interface, system apps in deep high contrast black which not only cooler to the eyes but also helps in saving battery. You enable dark mode for the 3rd party apps also which is nifty feature. Most of the times, I use dark mode because realme UI looks even better in the dark mode.
Dual Earphones:
Dual earphones feature let's you use your Wireless and Wired earphone at the same time. While listening to music or watching video content if you want to share the audio with your friend via wired or wireless earphone depending on what you're using without buying any separate 3.5mm adapter. Also you can attend the call via any of those earphone and simultaneously listen to the audio in the second earphone.
Screen-Off Display:
Screen-Off Display also known as Always On Display is cool new integration in realme UI. With Screen-Off Display feature, it offers many dynamic Digital as well as Analogue clock styles so you can customize based on your mood. And even better you can write your personalize text be it motivational or funny it will show on the lockscreen.
Screen Light Effects:
In addition to the many customization option available in realme UI, the Screen Light Effects is very cool. What it does is when a notification arrives the edges of the screen lights-up from bottom to top in a wind type form which looks amazing.
Privacy: Personal Information Protection
realme UI focuses big on users privacy and it offers usual privacy features such as managing different app permissions, App lock, Kids space and Private Safe space for your photos, Audio, Documents and others. The one feature that stands out in realme UI is Personal Information Protection.
It gives an option to send empty information it help preventing user personal data to be leaked and users can still use the app normally.
Focus Mode & Digital Wellbeing:
You are already familiar with the Digital Wellbeing feature which shows your smartphone usage pattern, frequently used apps, set timer for apps, etc. Now, it has got another feature called Focus Mode. It helps you disconnect from all the distracted apps and let's you concentrate more on your work.
New Three Finger Screenshot:
realme has redesigned and added a few nifty tricks in three finger swipe screenshot. How does it works is first you take the screenshot and it went down to the left hand side in the form of small image. Swiping down gives various options to quickly share it. Swiping Up lets you take long screenshot.

03: Settings, Phone, Contacts & Message

Settings:
The new Settings app is more simplified and more intuitive. Opening the Settings app brings you Search Settings Bar which lets you quickly search a particular function if you juggling through various things in Settings App. The first set of options like Airplane Mode, Sim Card & Mobile Data, WiFi, Bluetooth and Other Wireless Connections. Data Usage option offers better control over the apps that use mobile data. You will get all notification control option in Notification & Status Bar settings. All the Do Not Disturb options in Quiet Time setting and many other options to dig into.
The Phone, Contacts and Message Apps has been updated inline with the new user interface, simple color scheme lightweight visual and smooth animation and transition. You can swipe down to hide the dialer, The SIM selection button has become more oval shaped. You can also set different ringtones to your favourite contacts.
04: Gallery, Music, Video & Camera
Gallery app UI is more flat and has got a new Explore tab where your photos are organized based on People, Locations and Subjects. The photo sharing UI now gives preview of the photos you can quickly select on the sharing interface without going back to the album.
Music Player interface is same as before but the Now Playing has received some enhancement with more fluid swipe gesture to hide/unhide. The Video player has not changed much. The UI is inline with the new realme UI design language.
The Camera Interface has also undergone some changes and there are four mode available - Night, Video, Photo, Portrait and 64 MP mode. The upper toggle is same as before with better icons. Nightscape for Selfie camera is also available. You can now also add timestamp on your photos.

All the system apps has been re-designed with smooth animation, better visual experience, refined texture. The weather app has gone major update. It offers live weather animation based on your selected location. Recorder app now shows the contact info.
The calculator app is now more easier to use and offers live exchange rates of different currency and many mathematical dimension converter. The calculator app also offers Floating Calculator which appears as picture in picture on top of any app and you can also set your desire transparency.
