Apple also making a foldable smartphone

Apple is also making a foldable smartphone
With a slew of manufacturers set to unveil foldable smartphones or new form factors for hybrid smartphone devices, Apple is also seemingly joining the race.
This week Apple updated a patent with drawings of a foldable clamshell phone, a continuation a patent filed in 2011 and updated in 2016. The most recent update to the patent obviously means Apple is solidifying the design to a certain extent.

It shows a phone that folds up in half, similar to Moto's patent for the update Razr. Other devices in this category have gone for either a convertible approach such as Xiaomi or for a multi-mode approach such as Samsung. Apple could incorporate hinges and housing around a flexible OLED display for such a device.
