Global e-sports revenue hit1.1 billion in 2019 say new report
A new study from gaming researcher, NewZoo, suggests that the global e-sports market will grow 26.7 percent in 2019, hitting revenues of $1.1 billion by the end of this year. The industry clocked revenues of $897.2 million in 2018.
According to NewZoo's 2019 Global E-sports Market Report, as much as $456.7 million will come from sponsorship, while media rights will bring in a further $251.3 million. Advertising, merchandising and ticketing, and publishing fees will be the third, fourth and fifth highest revenue generators, clocking 189.2 million, 103.7 million and 95.2 million, respectively.
